Just “be”?

Whatever God permits to happen to you in the present moment, whether it be spiraling thoughts that are weird or negative, all during a headache; not being able to complete an assignment on time or accidentally getting an easy question on an essay wrong due to a “slip-of-the-mind” or because of a slight mistake; being distracted and not being able to get back to work when you really want to get back to work without even wanting to do it, especially if it is due to Autism; or be if from not getting enough sleep for the day to function right, or whether someone does not convert to Catholicism yet despite several prayers and sacrifices made for that person (and God, in His Holy, Divine Providence will draw them in His Good time): This is the penance God wants from everyone (most of all); in other words, He simply wants from us our will. We must simply resign ourselves in all things that happen to us; because nothing ever happens to us without God permitting it, ever. And God would never permit anything that would not be for our (or for the) greater good that God has prepared for us. Summed up, the most important thing that God wants us to do is to resign ourselves to His Holy and Adorable Will, follow His Commandments, and do everything you would want to do (that is, following God’s Holy Will) as it comes to you in the present moment.

In other words, just be.

Just be.

Don’t worry yourself to having a Vertigo; remember the Vertigo!

This is a screenshot from Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec. This car is the Vertigo from the Belgian motor manufacturer Gillet. This screenshot is courtesy of the Gran Turismo wiki.

The Belgian automobile manufacture Gillet produced a sports car named “Vertigo”. The 1997 racing version has been featured in “Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec” (see the image above), the third game in the Gran Turismo racing video game franchise. As seen in the image above, the car in the game has special decals on its front headlights that read “.be”. When I first saw this car, I thought that it had something to do with “be”, or even a “bee”. Just one question; “be” what?

Actually, these decals refer to the language subdomain suffix, spoken as “dot B E”, used for Belgian language sites. This is not unlike the subdomains suffixes such as “.en”, “.es”, “.de”, “.fr”, and so on.

However, these decals also remind me to do something…or rather, I was reminded of them by something. When I was thinking about how to “Just Be”, about resigning myself to God’s Holy and Adorable Will and Divine Providence. Thinking about that, I remembered this car and the “.be” decals on the headlights. And now, it really helps me to remember that when I think about that car, that I should just be

JUST BE

…Be still…”Be still and know that I AM God” (Ps. xlv. 11).

Oh, as a word of warning, if you do play Gran Turismo 3, I recommend turning off all radio race songs. One of them (“Mad Skillz”) in particular, I hope they did not take Our Lord’s Most Holy Name in vain…
